OpenAI’s artificial intelligence platform ChatGPT is an excellent source for finding answers to complex questions. However, generative AI models, such as Stable Diffusion and Midjourney, have taken text-based queries to a new level by generating impressive art from only a few words. But it’s not always what you expect, such as with these AI versions of Super Mario heroes turned villains.

Generating New Nightmares

Plumber brothers Mario and Luigi are instantly recognizable as the lovable characters from the Super Mario franchise. Even if you aren’t a gamer, you know what they look like, who some villains are, and that the brothers are on a never-ending quest to rescue Princess Peach.

The hugely popular franchise has enthralled fans for decades, but a 1993 movie adaptation wasn’t as warmly received as the studio hoped. However, 30 years later, another adaptation will hopefully do the franchise justice, as initial reviews of “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” sounds promising.

As the primary villain, most people will know what Bowser looks like, with his unmistakable scowl and spiked turtle shell. But what about the other characters? What would they look like when magically transformed into villains? Midjourney used Image-generating AI to turn Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach into their evil twins.

“These reinterpretations of iconic Super Mario characters demonstrate just how versatile new AI tools can be for bringing ideas to life that would once have been left only to the imagination. Presenting these familiar heroes in a new light also allows fans to consider the intriguing possibilities that emerge when characters take on roles outside of their traditional character arc,” said Online.Casino.
